“The time has come for a decisive action to stop the bloodshed
suffered by the Syrian people since the start of last year," Arab
League chief Nabil Elaraby told the Arab foreign ministers. "We must
move quickly in all directions ... to end or break the ongoing cycle
of violence in Syria."

The Arab League today asked the U.N. Security Council to have a
peacekeeping force in Syria. Syria’s state news said that the League's
decision was taken without a Syrian representative. So was this
decision wrongly done, and how can this effect the U.S.A - Think about
US ties to UN, The Syrian Crack down, Oil prices, and regional
effects.

  1. The US has said "no boots on the ground" in Syria. It is time for the Arab League and The UN to take a leading role in this situation. The consequences for US involvement could be many. Russia and China are not on-board w/UN sanctions -- How can the "Libya model" be reformulated for Syria? It is an election year after all!!!

  2. I don't think it's wise to get involved in the civil war that's going on in Syria. That would cost money, it would cost lives, and the revolution could possibly spread. So what should be a domestic civil war has turned into an international crisis and the Russians and Chinese are reacting to us by pushing this.
Yes this is a tragedy but I can point out many more tragedies a lot greater than this, for instance: The Siege of Ma’arra with 20,000 civilian lives lost (http://www.enotes.com/topic/Siege_of_Ma%60arra) that occurred in Syria centuries ago. This situation is not in American interests – if Syria posed a threat to United States national security then we should make a formal declaration of war, fight it and win it – not endlessly spend billions like we have in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I believe the United States would be prosperous if we just read that old piece of paper called the Constitution.
