  1. 1) The three steps are writing, designing and testing an advertisement.
    2) The average product only needs about 6 or 7 words. Know the difference between controversial and entertaining. Exigency is a good way to sell a product. Kids have to have their attention grabbed on multiple levels. Ask if the product is aspirational. Make sure the ad ages well. Have all relevant information included. Time and place are important factors to consider.
    3) Silly but unexpected is a good route to take. Beware lawsuits. A logo is optional. The kind of ad determines what program to use to make it.
    4) To tell if the ad is working ask consumers to ask for someone by name. Have different URLs. Offer coupons in different colors. Watch the response to the product after the ad.
