    2. They are using the Big V to crack down on microblog sites.
    3. Charles Xue is an American investor and microblogger who was best known for commenting on social issues. He was arrested for having sex with a prostitute.

    6. The Sina Weibo blog is used by usually groups or companies, and even entertainers. Many use this blog to augment their careers.

    2. They are using both a propaganda and police offensive
    3. He is an American investor. He also has a micro-blog, which is why he was arrested, even though they said it was related to prostitution
    4. They arrest people and lie about the reason
    5. "Big V" is a verified account, so anyone who has a verified account that can blog or something like that.
    6. "more than 500 million registered accounts and about 54 million daily users" are online, telling about China
    7. There are so many of them and they want there to be none
    8. Spreading lies/rumors, discrediting something or someone
    9. Spreading "outrageously false lies" about the Chinese officials
    10. I think that, being communist, the Chinese would crack down on anything that doesn't conform with the life that they are setting for the people
    11. I don't know about Chinese people, but in America, if someone was told that they would have consequences for doing something right, I think their resolve would grow stronger. That may hold true to the Chinese too.

  3. 1. It threatens their government by spreading both true and false rumors about the government and officials to thousands of people within days.
    2. they are arresting the big V bloggers
    3. He was a Big V blogger who posts information about the government that they don't want getting out. He was arrested for sleeping with a prostitute but he was really arrested for his blogging.
    4. They are making legal guidelines for bloggers and threatening to arrest those who do not follow them

    6. There are tons of people using Sina Weiblo blog to spread rumors of their government
    7. by blowing small events or problems way out of proportion and getting many people upset and involved

    10. the arab protests because they didn't want their citizens getting any ideas of protesting themselves
    11. I think it will stop people from blogger for a short period of time but it is not a long term solution. Eventually people will start to do it again and once one group does it, it will spread back to everyone.

    2. They are shutting down blogs and arresting people.
    3. He is an American/Chinese man who blogs under a pseudonym and writes about the government. He was arrested for having sex with a prostitute.
    4. They are doing so by deleting peoples blogs and arresting those who speak out against the government.
    5. The Big V is a name for people with influential voices on the internet in China
    6. People who are using it want to talk about the government, and so many people are using it because it is easier to do than other websites.
    7. They have said they were using sex scandals and other things to get bloggers arrested, and by exposing the officials they now have to find new ways to have people arrested.

  6. 1. It is causing the arrest of many microbloggers and China is trying to stop the rumors that spread through Big V.
    2. Many microbloggers are being arrested throughout the country.
    3. Charles Xue is one of the most famous microbloggers and he was arrested for being caught with a prostitute.
    4. They were going to take down the most influential people first.
    5. Big V is Sina Weibo, a Chinese forum.
    6. Microbloggers use the account and there are 500 million accounts.
    7. There are so many subscribers to the top five microbloggers. (50 million each)
    8. It has influenced people to think a certain way and it makes China seem like a bad country.
    9. They couldn't spread lies about the Chinese government and if they did if it had 5,000 or more reads that would be three years in prison.
    10. It was started to break up like minds who could threaten the Communists in China.
    11. China has the right idea but I think they are going at it the right way. You can't just throw people into jail for speaking freely.

    2. Many people have been arrested because of all these microblogs in the country.
    3. Xue was a huge microblogger in China so they slapped some fake charges on him and said he had sex with a prostitute, so no, he wasn't "really arrested."
    4. They are trying to arrest anyone and everyone related to microblogs.
    5. "Big V" is a verified account and like blogs about stuff, which the Chinese government hates with a passion, because obviously, they are Communists.

    4. by not allowing certain websites to be available... in my opinion they don't want their people to be attached to technology, they don't want them to have a say, they don't want them to go against anything that the government puts into play. they believe this is the best way to handle this situation.

    In my opinion I think that it won’t work. I would say this because I don’t think that the punishment is harsh enough for the crimes that the bloggers are committing in a country where Communism is controlling the people.
